T4EU Summer School for Early-Stage Researchers
The 14th Lisbon Summer School for the Study of Culture will be the first Transform4Europe Summer School for Early-Stage Researchers. Organised under the theme ‘Culture at War’, the event will take place between 24 and 29 June 2024 in Lisbon, Portugal.
Organised by the Lisbon Consortium of the Faculty of Human Sciences of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, the summer school focuses on topics such as culture and conflict; war and the creation of modernity; the cultural construction of terror/terrorism; rules of war and humanitarian law; representations of war; cultural wars and language; dialogue and tolerance; environmental emergency; and war against climate change.
The event is addressed to participants interested in such fields as culture studies, film and the visual arts, literary and translation studies, history, anthropology, media, and psychology.
The registrations for paper submissions are now closed, but students can still register as attendees for the Summer School until 15 June. T4EU partner universities’ students can enjoy a reduced participation fee of €80.
Baltic University Programme (BUP) Science and Sail 2024
The Baltic University Programme (BUP) and Klaipėda University, proudly present BUP Science and Sail 2024, a summer school with the focus on the Baltic Sea Environment.
The summer school will take place between 4-11 August in Klaipėda, Lithuania and the waters of the Baltic Sea. Accepted students will be studying the sensitive Baltic Sea Environment, both on land and at sea with leading experts from across the region.
Parts of the summer school will take place onboard Klaipėda University’s sailing vessel Brabander, sailing the southeastern part of the Baltic Sea, while conducting tests and collecting samples. Participants will also study the unique coastal environment of the Curonian Spit and Nemunas river delta, learning about the impacts of and solutions to climate change, biodiversity loss and the human aspects of the unique Baltic Sea Environment.
This summer school is free of charge and applications are open for students studying at either bachelor or master level at The Baltic University Programme’s participating universities. In total 36 students from BUP participating universities will be selected to take part. Furthermore, we will welcome 3 PhD students. The PhD students will have a unique opportunity to take part in the full program, along with the students, while also practicing their teaching and mentoring skills. The attending PhD student will be supporting students in contextualising the work. We accept students from all kinds of study programs and no pre-knowledge of the Baltic Sea Environment is required.

Recent graduates and current students are facing numerous challenges when attempting to secure jobs in entry-level positions. They feel uncertain about their degree or what comes next after graduation and are struggling to find summer employment that aligns with their studies and passions. A couple of months before the end of the semester, Vytautas Magnus University extends a helping hand to current students and graduates who are feeling overwhelmed as they embark on their job-searching journey.
That’s why the VMU Career Centre and International Cooperation Department invite current students and graduates to join an online event on the topic of “Insider Tips for Landing Entry-Level Positions”.

The catalogue provides a standardized presentation of enterprise, institution or organization which is offering internship or volunteering opportunities, indicates the name and conditions of the offered internship / volunteering position. Each publication of an offer includes information about ability to combine activities with your studies, about the period of internship / volunteering, specifies which of offered positions are adapted for students with disabilities and which activities are organized in foreign languages.
We hope that this catalogue will help you to find a place of internship or you will use an opportunity to test yourself in volunteering, which will be useful in finding your path to labor market!

Recent graduates and current students are facing many challenges when trying to find a job in their desired field. Among the most crucial ones are limited or no professional experience, high competition where entry-level positions attract many applicants, making it tough to stand out, and not knowing how to describe your achievements, competencies, skills, and abilities in a favorable light for a relevant vacancy. Perhaps the last one is the focal point.
Therefore, we have convened a panel of VMU alumni who have encountered similar challenges and are enthusiastic about sharing their valuable advice and experiences acquired throughout their careers.

The application for Create Lithuania programme has begun
Please be informed that the selection of participants for the programme Create Lithuania has begun. Launched in 2012, the goal of Create Lithuania programme is to promote Lithuania’s economic transformation and changes in the country. Every year participants from various industries join the programme for one year. During this time, they work in the public sector and develop evidence-based solutions and breakthroughs in various areas, from economy and innovation to industry, STEM, governance and many others.
This year, candidates are encouraged to embrace a new focus: Economic Transformation. We invite motivated, ambitious, talented, and critical individuals who possess the capability and enthusiasm to innovate in finance, technology, industry, artificial intelligence, public management, and other sectors in Lithuania to join the programme.
The selection process will continue until 5 May. There is the possibility to participate in the programme in English.
To be considered for selection, applicants must:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Possess a minimum of two years of professional work experience.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the English language.
- Exhibit analytical skills and the ability to collaborate within a team.
Candidates with project management experience, as well as those with study and/or work experience abroad, will be viewed favorably during the selection process.

Erasmus+ Traineeship Competition
Competition is open for Erasmus+ students or recent graduate traineeship grants for traineeships in any EU/EEE country. The application deadline is the 30th of April, 2024.
The placement period is from 2 to 6 months. Recent graduate traineeship must end – a year after graduation.
Note! For recent graduate traineeship applications must be submitted and students must be selected while the applicant is still a student at VMU. You can only apply for one traineeship place – multiple mobilities are not possible.
Selection
All VMU full-time degree students who have not used more than 10 months of their Erasmus mobility (study/traineeship) period are eligible for the Erasmus grant.
Selection documents
For student traineeship (traineeship during student’s year of studies):
- Filled-in application form „Outgoing-Application for Erasmus Student Traineeship“
- Confirmation by the company or organization (obligatory).
Documents must be submitted online.
For recent graduate traineeship (application must be submitted during the last year of studies):
- Application form „Outgoing-Application for Erasmus Recent Graduate Traineeship “
- Confirmation by the company or organization (obligatory);
- Recommendation by a faculty member (obligatory).
The priority in the selection is given to:
- students whom traineeship is an obligatory part of their study programme;
- students who have never been Erasmus traineeship students before.
Selection criteria:
- student’s motivation;
- good knowledge of the language which will be used during the traineeship;
- student’s work, study, traineeship, participation in international/academic projects, and social activities experience in Lithuania and abroad;
- conformability between the chosen traineeship and the student’s study programme;
- study results (first-year MA students should attach a transcript of records of their BA/MA degree to the application form).

- 4000-7999 km – 820,00 Eur

International Student Week in Belgrade
The International Student Week in Belgrade (ISWiB) is one of the largest student conferences in Southeast Europe. This year it will be organised on August 2-10.
ISWiB is celebrating a 17th anniversary and has prepared 8 workshops in various fields for students and recent postgraduates from all around the world, who will be dealing with burning issues of today’s society using different methods such as marketing, graphic design, start-up bootcamp, dance, musical and many more.
We especially encourage young people with disabilities, as well as members of other vulnerable groups, to sign up and participate. The festival will be adjusted to them in order to promote the importance of their involvement and connection with young people from Serbia and the world.
