VMU Career Centre Invites You to the Informal Seminar Series “Towards Yourself’25: Business Starts with You”
Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) Career Centre invites students, alumni, and the entire university community to participate in the online meetings of the informal seminar series Towards Yourself ’25 in March and April and take advantage of the virtual CV Clinic.
This year’s theme, Business Starts with You, highlights that entrepreneurship is not just about starting your own company, nor is an entrepreneurial person solely a business owner. Entrepreneurship also means taking responsibility for your career, proactively shaping your career path, and presenting yourself effectively in the job market. It starts with skills that are valuable not only for launching a business but also for advancing in any career—such as the ability to sell your ideas, represent yourself well, and stand out from other candidates.
During the seminars, together with industry professionals, we will explore how to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, build a personal brand, and understand why it is essential to “sell” your competencies to employers. We will discuss self-confidence and ways to leverage your strengths to achieve professional or business goals. Entrepreneurship begins with telling yourself—Yes, I can! So let’s develop our entrepreneurial skills together in the Towards Yourself’25 seminar series!

Students Invited to First Festival of European Culture and Languages in Italy
On 7-11 July, The Transform4Europe Alliance invites VMU BA, MA, and PhD students to attend the Blended Intensive Program (BIP) “First Festival of European Culture and Languages. Tourism and Heritage from the Border” which will take place in Trieste, Italy.
Application submission deadline is 15 June.
The festival will critically examine tourism, European cultural heritage, border regions’ identities and other issues. For this purpose, Trieste, a city deeply influenced by its border identity, was chosen as a case study. Participants will explore the city as “cruisers,” much like the hundreds of tourists arriving daily, but with a critical perspective. Through guided explorations and discussions, they will analyze what is made visible in heritage narratives and what remains hidden, uncovering the contested and layered nature of urban identity.
Designed as a Blended Intensive Program (BIP), the festival moves beyond traditional lecture-based formats, encouraging students to engage actively in interdisciplinary and performative restitutions of their findings. The goal is to challenge conventional representations of heritage and promote a deeper, more nuanced understanding of how history and identity are constructed, particularly in border regions.
3 ECTS credits are granted upon completion of the program.

Participants will learn FAIR data principles, licensing, and compliance to maximize transparency, accessibility, and impact, ensuring their research contributes meaningfully to Open Science and diverse audiences. The trainer of the webinar will be Assist. Prof. Ana Slavec from the University of Primorska.
On Tuesday 22 April, 10 a.m.–12 p.m. (Lithuania time), webinar Effective Science Communication with Social Media will offer tips and tricks for effective and creative communication on social media. This workshop will discuss practical ways to create engaging and accessible science communication. All experience levels are welcome. The webinar’s trainers will be Karin Marinič, Digital Communications Editor (University of Primorska) and Amy Simmons, Assistant Researcher (University of Primorska) and Professional Associate for Public Relations (InnoRenew CoE).
The link to the seminars will be provided to the participants after registration.

Open Call for T4EU Student Initiatives
The Transform4Europe Alliance (T4EU) invites students from VMU and other T4EU universities to join up into teams and create initiatives that will improve collaboration, cooperation, and sustainability of T4EU, as well as benefit general well-being on the university level. International teams made up of at least 5 students each from three different T4EU universities will be competing with their ideas to receive funding for their project.
To apply, students must fill out the questionnaire and answer a series of questions by 1 July 2025.
Initiatives will be supported in the form of a project with a clear start and end date and budget. Each initiative must positively impact the interconnectivity of the Alliance and improve mutual understanding and cooperation. They should address students with an aim to improve the affiliation and the feeling of belonging to one common transnational campus.
Students will be able to share their ideas on the WhatsApp group. The platform will connect students from different universities who do not know each other yet and allow the cooperation to begin. Moreover, platforms such as ClickUp, Trello or Slack offer valuable tools to improve coordination and workflow and make project management easier.
In addition, students who are going to attend the T4EU Weeks, summer courses, and other T4EU events will have the opportunity to discuss, brainstorm, and work out ideas for their initiatives in person.
Initiatives should address environmental aspects, inclusiveness and diversity, sustainability and/or wellbeing. Each initiative can receive up to €2,500 of funding for one year from a total sum of €10,000 per year. In the case of funds being left, they will be distributed among the selected initiatives based on needs.
The budget must be justified within the application, with a detailed explanation of how the funds will be allocated and for what purpose.
The funds will cover direct costs needed to implement the initiative, costs related to event organisation as well as travel and accommodation, and any other direct costs related to the implementation of the action.
