Apply Now: T4EU Sustainable Heritage Student Competition

Vytautas Magnus University invites students of all levels to participate in the first Sustainable Heritage competition of the European University Alliance Transform4Europe. This is a unique opportunity to join an international team of students from other Alliance universities.

The event will take place in Trieste, from July 7 to 11, 2025. The competition’s theme is environmental heritage and generations. The competition is part of the “Blended Intensive Program” (BIP).

Applications are accepted until April 12, 2025 by email at transform4europe@vdu.lt.

Application Procedure

Participants are invited to submit a short project idea (a 300-word text or a 3-minute video/poster) that aligns with the competition’s theme and demonstrates your creative and analytical thinking.

Project proposals should focus on one or more of the following areas:

  • Environmental heritage – atmospheric, climatic, and landscape aspects;
  • Intergenerational storytelling – collecting and preserving narratives and stories;
  • Citizen science – community involvement in data collection and awareness;
  • Communication about climate change – creative tools to communicate the impact of climate change;
  • Sustainable solutions – ecological, adaptable, and locally implementable solutions;
  • Cultural heritage preservation – tangible and intangible aspects.

Projects should be relevant locally but also adaptable in other similar contexts.

The winning group will be awarded a monetary prize of €2,000 and the opportunity to refine or implement the project, with the assistance of mentors from the Bora Museum (Italy).

Timeline:

  • Application deadline: 12 April 2025 (VMU internal deadline)
  • Online phase: May–June 2025
  • On-site activities in Trieste: 7–11 July 2025
  • Travel days: 6 & 12 July 2025
