The International Energy Agency (www.iea.org) is currently recruiting for several

• 1 Internship on Heavy industry decarbonisation policy implementation. We
are looking for an intern with some combination of technical knowledge on
industry sector, python skills and/or also ideally good drafting skills.
Start date: Late April/May
Duration: ideally 6 months
• 1 Internship for the IEA Africa Programme. The internship includes engagement
with partners in the region, events and analysis of energy trends and political
developments in the African continent.
Start date: April 2025
Duration: ideally 6 months
• 1 Internship in the MENA desk. The internship involves supporting the MENA
desk in coordinating engagement activities and delivering projects related to
MENA energy questions.
Start date: April-May 2025
Duration: ideally 6 months
Interns will
o draft policy-relevant and timely qualitative and quantitative analysis
o assist horizontal (cross-agency) coordination with energy and economics
experts
o summarize meetings, relevant reports, and other material to feed into
decision-making
o remain informed about political and economic developments in the
country that relate primarily to energy and climate issues
o contribute to the structured and careful management of knowledge,
analysis, and data on the region.
• Candidates should:
o be fluent in English with excellent writing skills; knowledge of other
languages (French/Arabic) would be an asset
o strong MS Office Suite PowerPoint, Word, Excel) skills.
o Have a strong interest in the region and the energy sector
• 3 Internships in the Communication and Digital Office (CDO) to work on
✓ Media relations and press engagement.
✓ Graphic design, infographics, maps, branding and data visualisation.
✓ Multimedia and analytics.
Start date: Flexible
Duration: ideally 6 months
